The U In JesUs….

                                      Poem from an unknown author

Before U were thought of or time had begun,

God put U in the name of His Son.

And each time U pray, U will see it is true,

U cannot spell out JesUs and not include U.

U are a pretty big part of His wonderful name,

For U He was born; that’s why He came.

And His great love for U, is the reason He died,

It even takes U to spell crUcified.

Isn’t it thrilling and splendidly grand;

He rose from the dead, with U in His plan.

The stone rolled away, the gold trUmpet blew,

and the word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His Upward ascension;

He felt there was one thing He jUst had to mention.

“Go into the world and tell them it’s trUe,

that I love them all – just like I love U.”

So many great people are spelled with a U,

It all depends now on what U will do.

He’d like all to know, and it all starts with U………JesUs and U!

Will U let others know, that they too are the U in JesUs?

    A biblical response

The love JesUs shares is awesome indeed,
But there’s something missing from this little seed.

His mercy & grace & love is so true,
But that’s only half of this great letter U.

What about jUdgment? Some U’s are there, too,
And Wrath can’t be spelled without double U.

    Unrighteous, Unholy & Unloving, too
Those U’s will be jUdged and given their dUe.

To speak jUst of love is Unbalanced at best,
since God saves a “few” & punishes the rest.

We mUst lovingly warn those on the broad path,
Unless they repent they will sUffer God’s wrath.

This is the trUth a lost world needs to see,
That God “crushed” His own Son when He died on that tree.

If yoU sUrrender yoUr will & tUrn from yoUr sin,
The LORD will have mercy & cleanse yoU within.

God is love & He’s jUst and He rUles from His throne,
U or I cannot add, His Name is great all alone!

When Jesus died on the cross he was making the way for sinners to be reconciled to a merciful & loving God & escape the wrath to come. Now, because of the great sacrifice that God has made by crushing His only Son & afterwards raising Him from the dead, He commands ALL men everywhere to repent or perish, because God demonstrated His own love toward us in this way: that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

  2. There are indeed two sides to the coin.

We see that when we look at the cross. The love that God shows by giving His Son to death – and the judgement that the wages of sin is death.

Both views must be taught in balance, to truely understand, the depth of His love.

    Thanks for the reminder.
