Now That I’m Home

11/01/07

I will be continuing my story now that I have something to write about. It will be a bit different though, in that this is happening in “real time.”

I do ask my reader(s) to pray for me as I am discerning a call to the Diaconate. I have previously met with our priest, and discussed it with him. He was very helpful and is encouraging me to pursue this “call” from God.

We are meeting with a deacon and his wife, later this week, (11/15) to talk about the office.

There is also a meeting on November 29th, for all who are discerning this call in the north Iowa area.

Thank you all so much.

I have received the application to the diaconate. Man is it lengthy!

My wife completed her questionnaire, and I completed my application for the Diaconate. It is due the 30th of March, so we over-nighted it. I had put off my physical and my dental appointments until the last minute and I shouldn’t have done that. Thankfully, the dentist had a last minute cancellation and worked me in.

I’ve done my part, now it’s in God’s hands. Please continue your prayers for God’s will in this matter.

  1. Congratulations!

    My original plan was to begin the discernment process for the diaconate myself this year. But, it will most likely not happen for a few more years.

    I can only hope that by the time I finally begin the process the application will be less lengthy. :-)

  2. Yes…it is a bit lengthy….ain’t it!

  3. Tim;

    Good luck , and I will pray that the loving hands of God will be upon you….

    Paul
